Head of School Weekly Update – 5/5/25
Dear Paragon Families,
This week, our Kindergarten classroom was full of excitement as our long-awaited baby chicks finally hatched! Watching our students check on the eggs, anticipate each tiny crack, and become so involved as the chicks emerged was a beautiful reminder of how much growth can happen with patience, trust, and nurturing. The excitement in the room was contagious—what began as a science lesson became a powerful experience in responsibility and awe.
Meanwhile, our Student Council took a well-earned break with a field trip to Dave & Buster’s, celebrating their hard work, leadership, and service to the school. It was a joy to see these students—who’ve helped shape school events and represent their peers all year—relax and enjoy time together. Moments like these show how far they’ve come and how ready they are to take on even bigger challenges ahead.
As spring winds down, we feel that familiar rhythm of preparation, change, and growth. Our 8th graders are stepping into their final weeks at Paragon, getting ready to “leave the nest” and soar into high school. Their accomplishments, friendships, and growth over the years have prepared them well, and graduation will be a moment of celebration and reflection for us all.
For our 7th and 8th grade students, the upcoming trip to Costa Rica marks another meaningful step in their journey. Traveling abroad offers both adventure and perspective—and for many, it’s their first chance to stretch their wings a little further from home. Experiences like these reinforce our mission to develop confident, compassionate, and curious learners who are ready to engage with the world.
Whether it’s a baby chick cracking open its shell or a middle schooler preparing for high school, this season is filled with movement, growth, and possibility. It’s a privilege to watch your children take flight—knowing they are supported by such a loving and strong school community. I wish you an amazing week.
Warmly,
Lindsay Hay, M. Ed.
