Dear Paragon Parents,
What a wonderful second week of school! The excitement of the first few days is beginning to settle into the familiar rhythms and routines of school. Our students are getting used to their schedules, classrooms are finding their groove, and as we head into the coming weeks, you can expect the schoolwork to begin ramping up as well.
Yesterday’s Back-to-School Pool Party and PreK/Kinder Splash Party was such a great way to celebrate the beginning of another year together. I love seeing our students outside of the classroom simply having fun, spending time with friends, and enjoying being part of this community.
One of my favorite traditions is always the annual jump contest. Every year, I am impressed by the students who step up to represent their Colleges, especially our new students who may have only been at Paragon for a couple of weeks! It takes courage to stand on that diving board with everyone watching and literally take the leap for your College. Being the College representative isn’t easy, but our kids embrace the challenge, show up, and jump anyway. I love that.
Yesterday was also a big day because our newest students were officially sorted into their Colleges during our annual College Draft. If you’ve ever experienced the draft, you know it is LOUD, crazy, and full of energy! And while all that noise may be a little much for some, behind the cheering is something much more meaningful.
Your College becomes another place to belong at Paragon.
It’s another group of students who know your name, another group of adults cheering you on, and another opportunity to connect with people outside of your classroom and grade level. Over time, our students will compete together, celebrate together, serve together, and make memories together. My hope is that yesterday’s loud and crazy introduction is just the beginning of each student’s growing sense that there are many places and many people at Paragon where they belong.
