Add Sporting Events To Your Personal Calendar

It is now possible to have sporting events show up directly in your iPhone, Google or Outlook Calendar. No matter which device you use, you will need to use the correct server url from the following table:

How to view in Google Calendars

  1. From within Google Calendars, in the right nav bar, it should say "Other Calendars". Click the down arrow button next to it.
  2. Select "Add by URL".
  3. Paste in the URL from above.

How to view in Outlook

  1. Click on "Calendar".
  2. At the top, click the button that says "Open Calendar" and select "From Internet..."
  3. Paste in the URL from above.
  4. Click OK.

How to view using an iPhone

  1. Go into Settings.
  2. Click "Mail, Contacts, Calen...".
  3. Click "Add Account".
  4. Click "Other".
  5. Click "Add Subscribed Calendar".
  6. In the server field, type the url from above.
  7. Click "Next". Your phone will churn for a while.
  8. You'll get a notice that says Cannot Connect Using SSL. That's OK. Click "Continue".
  9. Click "Save". This should take you back to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars page.
  10. Click "Fetch New Data".
  11. Your new calendar should be at the bottom of the list. Verify that it says Fetch next to it.
  12. At the bottom of the page you can set the Fetch setting to 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Shorter values will use more battery but pick up changes faster.
  13. Go into the calendar app and verify that you can see your sports calendar.

How to view on an Android Device

  1. First, follow the instructions above for "How to view in Google Calendars"
  2. On your Android device, you may have to clear the existing calendars and re-sync the data for a new calendar to show up.
    • Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / Calendar -> Clear Data
    • then Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / Calendar Storage -> Clear Data
  3. Wait a few minutes and you should be able to see the new calendar. If it does the new calendar does not show up, also do the following:
    • Settings / Accounts & sync -> select your account, uncheck the "Sync Calendar" option
    • Wait a few minutes and re-check the Sync Calendar option to see
  4. Keep in mind that if you have 2-step verification enabled on your phone, you may have to remove the account entirely and re-add it.
