Elvis Day Results! Elvis Day was quite a hit this year! We celebrated the birthdays of Elvis and our own Mr. McGrath dressed up in our best Elvis and 50’s attire. Those who participated by dressing for the occasion were awarded points for their colleges. Each participant received one point for their colleges. The points were awarded as such:
  • Wake Forest: 12 points
  • USC: 11 points
  • Oxford: 11 points
  • LSU: 11 points
  • Harvard: 9 points
  • Alaska: 8 points
  • Texas: 8 points
  • Yale: 8 points
  • Florida: 7 points
  • Xavier: 7 points
  • Cambridge: 5 points

1/6/12 Bhatti Mines - Totals

This year Paragon did a very special college competition to benefit the Sri Aurobindo Bhatti Mines School in India outside of New Dehli. It serves students ages 5-17 who would otherwise not be receiving an education. This competition included 3rd and 4th grade. 3rd grade's college is Harvard, 4th grade's is Yale. Our own Ms. Bolt met the founder and has facilitated art exchanges with their students and ours (with the help of Mr. Deepak) and organized this drive with the help of 6th grader Benson Davis. An astounding amount of money was raised - $8,309!

The amount raised by each college was:
  • 1st - Harvard: $2,608
  • 2nd - Cambridge: $1,406
  • 3rd - Oxford: $1,297
  • 4th - Florida: $752
  • 5th - Yale: $579
  • 6th - LSU: $350
  • 7th - Wake Forest: $336
  • 8th - Xavier: $326
  • 9th - USC: $310
  • 10th - Texas: $220
Cambridge will receive 50 points, Oxford will receive 30 points and Florida will receive 15 points.

Fall Fest - Final Results

Fall Fest 2011 was very successful this year! Fall Fest consists of both academic and athletic competitions (and this year, a bonus Yoga Pose contest!). Academic contests include science, art, history, spelling math and ancient trivia. The athletic portion takes place at Brentwood Park and included competitions in bocce, soccer, basketball and the Best Relay Ever.

At the end of the day all the points won by each college were totaled up and the winners were:
  • 1st - Alaska 510 points
  • 2nd - (Tie) LSU & Xavier 480 points
  • 3rd - Wake Forest 473 points
  • 4th - Texas 453 points
  • 5th - Florida 417 points
  • 6th - USC 370 points
  • 7th - Cambridge 297 points
  • 8th - Oxford 190 points
Alaska will receive 50 points, LSU and Xavier will receive 30 points each and Texas will receive 15 points.

Candy Drive - Wrap Up

This year Paragon collected a total of 620 pounds of candy. All candy was donated to Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Special thanks to Robin DeBehnke for organizing this drive and delivering our candy to those who needed it! Those 620 pounds broke down as such:
  • Xavier 155 lbs
  • Alaska 145 lbs
  • Texas 90 lbs
  • USC 82 lbs
  • Wake Forest 47 lbs
  • Oxford 38 lbs
  • Cambridge 30 lbs
  • LSU 20 lbs
  • Florida 13 lbs
1st Place Xavier is awarded 15 points
2nd Place Alaska is awarded 10 points
3rd Place Texas is awarded 5 points

10/31/2011 Sock Drive Results Are In!

The final tally of socks is in and the winners are:

  • 9th Place: Alaska - 19 pairs
  • 8th Place: Florida - 41 pairs
  • 7th Place: Xavier - 89 pairs
  • 6th Place: Cambridge - 94 pairs
  • 5th Place: USC - 116 pairs
  • 4th Place: LSU - 134 pairs
  • 3rd Place: Oxford - 143 pairs - AWARDED 30 points
  • 2nd Place: Texas - 257 pairs - AWARDED 40 points
  • 1st Place: Wake Forest - 258 pairs - AWARDED 50 points

Wake Forest beat Texas by just one pair of socks! It was a very close competition! Thank you to everyone who participated!


9/30/2011 Points have been added for Spirit Week!

Pirate Day, Twin Day, Way Back Day, Sports Day, Spirit Day and Ultimate ParaTrivia points have all been counted and added to your current college standings! In combination with points won for the Bastrop Donation Drive and the Claim the World game we get the totals above

The students of Paragon are divided into nine colleges. These colleges compete with each other and get points for academics, behavior and charity work.
